Carrier Oils............
Carrier oils, otherwise known as base oils must always be used when using pure essential oils for massage. This is because they are too highly concentrated to be used neat on the skin.
The two exceptions are :
Lavender oil - which has anti-flammatory properites and can be trickled onto cuts, bruises, burns , spots or scars as well as a drop into the ear for earache or dabbed onto the forehead / temples to assist headaches or drops added to water to help reduce fever.
Tea-Tree oil - which has anti-fungal properties and can be used neat as a spot-buster, against foot odour or warts. Using a few dabs on the affected area is sufficient for improvement.
Half the dose should be used for young children; Babies require only a quarter of the dose and it is advisable to stick with Lavender and Chamomile blends.
Please be advised that the above are only guidelines any self-blended oils will be at your own risk.
Blending Guide for Adults :

5 drops for every 5ml of carrier oil, (1 teaspoon)
10 drops for every 10ml of carrier oil. (1 dessertspoon)
15ml = 1 teaspoon, 10ml = 1 tablespoon
